With the legal mumbo jumbo out of the way, let me
explain it another way. It takes a great deal of hard work to write a
book. Month after month, sitting in a lonely room in front of a
glaring computer screen, agonizing over plot, dialogue, structure,
grammar, and a dozen other things. And when the hundredth rewrite is
finally complete, if the author is lucky enough to have his work published, he has
to endure the criticism that is sure to follow. As authors, we welcome
a constructive critique, but nothing eases the pain of malicious criticism.
Money is not the motivator for most authors.
We are driven by a burning desire to write, but as mere mortals, like most
everyone else, we have
mortgage payments, car payments, utility bills, grocery bills, and insurance
payments. We feel strongly that we have the same right to be
rewarded for our labors as other working men and women.
So, if you enjoy what you read, please tell all
your friends, but let them BUY their own copy.
Thanks,
Gene Tague
